RECALLS FROM VOLKSWAGEN, MAZDA, FORD, AND TAKATA:
WEEKLY RECALL UPDATE

Volkswagen is recalling select 2015-2018 Golf and Golf Sportwagen vehicles. There is an issue with the build of silicate on the shift lever which may enable the key to be removed from the ignition while the vehicle shift lever is not in park.
Mazda is recalling select 2018 CX-5 SUVs. The side curtain airbag may not properly unfold during deployment in the event of a side impact or rollover crash.
Ford is recalling select 2013-2014 Ford Escape SUVs and select 2013-2016 Ford Fusion vehicles equipped with six-speed automatic transmissions. The bushing that attaches the transmission shifter cable to the transmission may degrade over time and cause the bushing to detach from the transmission. This condition could allow the driver to move the shift lever to park and remove the ignition key, while the transmission may not be in park, with no warning signs.
Takata is recalling select “Alpha” airbags found in certain 2001-2003 Honda and Acura vehicles, 2006 Ford Ranger, and Mazda B-Series trucks. There may be a problem with long-term exposure to high heat and humidity that may lead to an explosion on deployment.
